How it works

Curriculum Currents uses STEM constructs that have universal meaning to cross-index and connect curated content from the Sciences, Arts, and Humanities into a dynamic, integrated database. These materials are then displayed within a navigable, leveled, multimedia interface called a Matrix Display that students navigate and explore for individual or group assignments. Here’s how it works:

01.Teacher-Curated Resource Banks

Each week, a designated program director selects one of our validated universal constructs, such as “Cycle.” Teachers across all disciplines contribute a few links to online resources—articles, videos, info graphics, etc.—showing how that construct relates to their subject area and syllabus (e.g., biology, chemistry, history, art, music).

02.System Integration

The program director uploads the submitted links into the system, taking just 30 minutes each week. The director also develops assignments for students to complete during 20-minute homework or study hall sessions.

03. Guided Reading Environment

Students log into the system’s Matrix Display, entering a guided learning environment. Here, they explore curated multimedia resources—organized by subject area and difficulty level—centered on the week’s construct.
